There's an article in today's Seneca Journal about the Mud Run. They're planning to have two of them a year, Spring and Fall. Construction of the course is almost completed. It's 5k long, and will be open to the public throughout the year as a trail, with the mud pits covered and some of the obstacles removed. It's in the woods above the Shaver Complex -- the city of Seneca has a map [here].
If you zoom out on that map, the blue line is the Seneca Half Marathon course, the third running of which will be March 16. There's a lot of good running going on in our area. Check the Area Race Calendar on the left of this page, set yourself a goal, and join us for some company and motivation.
Come to the meeting Thursday at the back room at Ye Olde Sandwich Shoppe, 6:30 (6:00 to order and start eating).
Come run (or walk) with us Saturday through South Cove Park, 8:00am. Park at the Volunteers in Medical Missions office on South Cove Rd. The weather is looking to be great!
[update Oct 8] Looks like the first mud run, to benefit Collins Children's Home, is scheduled for April 20th. Link here. Online registration and pricing info are here (that's for teams of four). Collins Home is a good cause, I truly hope they raise a great donation for them ... but, um, that's the same day as the Chick-fil-a Volunteers in Medical Missions race ...
